Three-year-old boy sexually assaulted in capital city; Poojappura police arrest culprit

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a horrific crime, a three-year-old boy was sexually assaulted in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. Marikani, a Tamil Nadu native was arrested by Poojappura police in the case.

The culprit abused the son of his close friend. The boy who suffered serious injuries is currently under treatment in a private hospital. The accused was remanded.

In another crime, Judge K Vidyadharan of the Neyyattinkara Fast Track Court (POCSO) pronounced life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 to the accused who molested a four-year-old girl. Adimalathura native Christu Das is the culprit involved in the case. The incident was in 2022 when Christu Das summoned a four-year-old to his house after he spotted her walking on the road.

Vizhinjam police led by Sampath KL and Prajesh Shashi investigated the case while Special Public Prosecutor Vellarada K.S. Santosh Kumar appeared in the court.
