THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Sudhakaran has again taken charge as KPCC president. He assumed the post after meeting with AK Antony. After Sudhakaran entered the fray in Kannur in the Lok Sabha elections, MM Hassan was given the temporary charge of the President. Sudhakaran told the media that he would review Hassan's actions after assuming charge . He also shared his displeasure regarding Hassan's absence in the event , where he took over the post.
"AICC returned my post without any conditions. The opposition leader's absence from the function may be due to his busyness. But MM Hasan was supposed to attend the ceremony. Hassan's decisions were taken without consultation,' said K Sudhakaran.
Sudhakaran, the sitting MP of Kannur, was also a candidate in the Lok Sabha polls this time and the charge was temporarily handed over to Hassan. After the election, the high command in the KPCC leadership meeting held on May 4th did not allow him to return to the position. AICC General Secretary in charge of Kerala, Deepadas Munshi, told him that he can take charge after the counting of votes.
Sudhakaran did not publicly express his displeasure with the High Command's decision but his camp felt that he had been humiliated. In the election review meeting, the leaders and candidates listed the organizational weaknesses. They also stated that it is not possible to proceed like this. Sudhakaran complained to the high command regarding the leadership change discussion became active after the meeting. He also exerted pressure through close leaders. He also decided not to go to Thiruvananthapuram without getting the permission of the national leadership. His camp also convinced the state leaders that upsetting K Sudhakaran would not benefit the party. Following this, AICC agreed to return his position.
