Travelling without ticket, two youths held for assaulting TTEs 

arrest

THRISSUR: The attack towards train ticket examiners are on the rise nowadays. The recent attack was on the Bengaluru-Kanyakumari Express. Two youths attacked TTEs Manoj Varma and Shemi Raj in Vadakancherry. They attacked the two TTEs for questioning travelling without tickets. The railway protection force caught the two youths identified as Ashiq of Ponnani and Ashwin of Kollam when they tried to flee after the attack. Reports said ganja was also seized from their bag. They are being interrogated.


A TTE was attacked on Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Maveli Express on May 13. The TTE was attacked when the train approached Tirur. The accused, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, was arrested. TTE Vikram Kumar Meena of Rajasthan sustained nose injuries. Vikram said the passenger hit him on his nose when asked for the ticket.


A passenger had killed a TTE identified as Vinod of Patna Express in April. The accused killed Vinod by pushing him from the moving train. The incident happened at Velappaya in Thrissur. A dispute over a ticket is the reason for the murder. Rajinikanth, a migrant worker was arrested in the incident. The Palakkad Railway Police arrested Rajinikanth. The police said the accused is a alcoholic.
