Amidst big anticipation and the controversy circling actor Mammootty, director Vyshak’s ‘Turbo’ was released in theatres across Kerala on Thursday. The first two shows of Thursday witnessed exuberance from fans who were seen rollicking in the aftermath of the screening. But apart from the fans, did the youngsters connect with the movie? Is it a triumph as per the initial reports?
Colour smokes, fireworks and dancing completed the total shindig that reverberated through the precincts of the New Theatre in Thiruvananthapuram. Fans were in high élan and their response to the media also reflected the same. Some even went to the brink of crying in joy while describing the total experience they had inside the theatre watching the action thriller movie.
“He is 72 years old and still remains the best performer in Mollywood. This will be yet another laurel for Mammootty Kampany and director Vysakh. The second half is simply fire. Such meticulously orchestrated fight scenes are very scant in the industry. “said one audience.
“This is Bindu Panicker’s career-best performance. Such a nice movie.” Said another audience.
Meanwhile, mixed reviews are now appearing online, with some criticizing the half-baked comedy and the mediocre stunt scenes that have dragged the movie down.
Turbo is now screening in more than 400 centres in Kerala. The first show was at nine in the morning. The fan show was arranged at New Theater in Thiruvananthapuram. In the film, Mammootty plays the role of a Jeep driver named Jose. Apart from Mammootty, Kannada star Raj B. Shetty, Telugu actor Sunil and Bollywood actor Kabir Duhan Singh line up to form an ensemble cast. Sunil and Kabir Duhan Singh are acting in a Malayalam film for the first time. Dileesh Pothan, Anjana Jayaprakash and Niranjana Anoop are the other stars.
