Pa Ranjith's 'Thangalaan,' one of the most anticipated films of the year, stars Vikram and Parvathy Thiruvothu in lead roles. Parvathy's recent interview about the film has gone viral on social media.
Parvathy shared her excitement about working with Pa Ranjith: "The first step was to work with Pa Ranjith. He had previously offered me two films, but I couldn't take them. When he called me the third time, I thought if I said no again, he wouldn't call me back."
Parvathy requested a narration, despite Ranjith's usual practice of only discussing the character. "He narrated the full story on a Zoom call, but I only understood the character fully during the workshop. The character's name is Gangamma. I can't reveal much more as the film's release date hasn't been announced yet," she added.
Addressing whether she seeks roles in commercial hits, Parvathy clarified: "Truthfully, no. I want to explore different genres. I might have been a little tired of myself and needed some life outside of films. 'Ullozhukk' was done in 2022 and I've changed since then. I've had some time and I'm happy about it. I can speak more clearly about 'Ullozhukk' now."
Meanwhile, 'Ullozhukk,' starring Urvashi and Parvathy Thiruvoth and directed by Cristo Tomy, is set to hit theaters soon. The recently released trailer suggests an emotionally gripping experience.
'Ullozhukk' marks Cristo Tomy's debut feature film, following his acclaimed Netflix documentary 'Curry and Cyanide.' The film also stars Alencier, Prashant Murali, Arjun Radhakrishnan, and Jaya Kurup. It is co-produced by Sanjeev Kumar Nair under Reverie Entertainments, alongside Ronnie Screwvala, Honey Trehan, and Abhishek Chaubey under RSVP and McGuffin Pictures. The film features cinematography by Shehnad Jalal and music by Sushin Shyam.
