Youth sets house on fire after locking his mother inside

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a shocking incident, a youth set his house on fire after locking his mother inside. The incident took place in Manikkal in Venjarammoodu. According to sources, the youth named Binu is mentally ill. The police have shifted the youth to a mental health facility. Police said that Binu set the house on fire under the influence of alcohol. The incident took place at around 10 am today.

The youth set the house on fire while his mother was inside the room. The mother managed to escape through the back door as the fire spread to the various parts of the house. Locals said that Binu had previously attacked his mother by pouring hot water on her head.
