Bar bribery allegation: Crime Branch records statement of Thiruvanchoor's son

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Crime Branch recorded the state of Arjun Radhakrishnan, the son of Congress leader Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, in connection with the bar bribery controversy. The SIT recorded Arjun's statement at his home in Vellayambalam. Arjun later told the media that he gave clear answers to all questions asked by the SIT.

Arjun told the SIT that he was not a member of the WhatsApp group of bar owners and that his father-in-law owns a bar. The SIT said that it would record the statements of all bar owners in Idukki. Based on the complaint filed by Excise Minister MB Rajesh's office, the Crime Branch is investigating how the voice message sent by Animon, the president of the Idukki Federation of Kerala Hotel Association, was leaked from the WhatsApp group of bar owners in Idukki.

The Crime Branch decided to record the statement of Arjun Radhakrishnan based on its finding that Arjun was the admin of the WhatsApp group of the bar owners in which the controversial voice clip was shared.
