Yogi Adityanath issues new orders for Bakrid; Strict action for violations

LUCKNOW: Believers are celebrating Bakrid on Monday. Ahead of this, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued new directives in the state. Prayers in the streets are banned on the occasion of Bakrid. The Chief Minister also warned that strict action will be taken if prohibited animals are found to be slaughtered as part of the sacrifice.

Designated places for animal slaughter will be notified in advance, and sacrifices should not be conducted elsewhere. No slaughter will be allowed in disputed areas. Officials are instructed to ensure that prohibited animals are not sacrificed. The Chief Minister also stated that a systematic action plan should be implemented in all districts for the disposal of garbage following the sacrifices.

Prayers should be conducted only at pre-arranged places and should not disrupt traffic. The Chief Minister emphasized that while faiths should be respected, new practices would not be encouraged.

Yogi Adityanath directed top officials and the police to prevent any incidents that could harm religious sentiments. He instructed the police to establish strict security across the state.

Hindus will celebrate Ganga Dussehra on June 16. The Chief Minister also gave instructions for this event. Ahead of Ganga Dussehra, the state government has ordered the cleaning and decoration of the ghats of the Ganga River and the demarcation of designated bathing areas.

Divers, the Flood Unit of the Territorial Armed Constabulary, NDRF and SDRF will be deployed for security. The Chief Minister also said that unnecessary power cuts should be avoided during the celebrations.
