Actress attacked on road, posts video on social media

NEW DELHI: An actress revealed on social media that she was attacked on the road. Bengali actress Payal Mukherjee stated that a biker attacked her after a minor accident on the Kolkata Road. The actress also released the video footage of the incident on social media.

The incident happened on Kolkata's Southern Avenue. After the accident, the youth stopped the bike in front of her car and asked her to come out of the vehicle. When she refused, he smashed the glass of the car. The actress also said in the video that she sustained injuries from the broken glass. The actress also pointed out that such an incident happened when a rally was held in the city demanding women's safety.

‘Even in the present situation, there is no safety for women in Kolkata. Payal explained what would have happened to me if the accident had happened in a deserted place.’ The actress also shared the picture of the bike.

After the video surfaced, the police said they intervened in the incident. The famous Bengali actress shared on social media the road accident and hooliganism on Southern Avenue. The duty police of Tollyganj police station immediately intervened and arrested the accused from the spot, the police said.
