CPI election review to take place next month; criticisms will get sharper

cpi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI state executive will meet on July 8 and the state council meeting on July 9 and 10 to review the Lok Sabha elections. District council meetings are going on. Strong criticisms were raised against the state government and the Chief Minister in the meetings held in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Alappuzha districts.

The defeat of LDF and CPI in the elections will lead to heated discussions in the state council meeting. The National Executive will meet on July 12 and the National Council on July 14 and 15.

Left front convenor EP Jayarajan's revelation on the polling day about his meeting with BJP leader Prakash Javadekar received criticism in all three districts. He was also criticised for staying away from the yatra led by state secretary MV Govindan and attending the ritual at the family temple of broker Nandakumar.

Another thing that was criticised in the CPI meetings was the Chief Minister's arrogance. Although CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam said yesterday that no criticism was raised against the government in the district council meetings, the reality is otherwise.
