Malayali passenger’s power bank explodes onboard flight

KOZHIKODE: A fire broke out in the flight from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode. The fire broke out after a passenger’s power bank exploded. All the passengers had a narrow escape. The incident happened in Air Arabia’s flight from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode.

The authorities took emergency steps and extinguished the fire. Passengers panicked seeing the fire. The power bank that exploded belonged to a Malayali passenger. His sister also was with him.

Authorities blocked four in connection with the incident. Two people who tried to open the emergency door when the fire broke out and the siblings were stopped. The passengers were later sent to Kozhikode in another flight.

Some passengers said they saw small sparks and smoke inside the plane as it was about to take off from Abu Dhabi airport. Some of the passengers had shot the footage of the incident on their mobile phones.

However, the authorities intervened and made them deleted the visuals before the passengers entered the other flight.
