THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: All the trade unions of Milma will go on strike from 12 pm the day after tomorrow. The strike is based on the demand for the implementation of salary reform. The union leaders alleged that no discussion happened despite giving a notice.

It was decided in the joint trade union meeting that MILMA employees will go on an indefinite strike to protest against the non-implementation of the revised salary revision agreement. INTUC State President R Chandrasekaran, General Secretary Bhuvanachandran Nair, CITU General Secretary Babu, Vice President Biju, AITUC leaders KP Rajendran, Mohandas and Thiruvallam Madhusudhan Nair attended the meeting.

Milma workers had been on strike by stopping packing and distribution last month also. The strike was in the Ambalathara, Kollam and Pathanamthitta dairies under the Thiruvananthapuram regional union. Processing of lakhs of litres of milk was halted. On Milma's complaint, the police registered a case against INTUC and CITU workers. The strike was held demanding the withdrawal of cases and the promotion of workers.
