Another bomb blast in Kannur, police intensifies probe

KANNUR: There was a major bomb blast today at around 1.30 pm at Valiyarambath Mukku in Kandothumchaal in Panur. The locally made bomb was thrown in the middle of the road.

A few months ago, a bomb was hurled twice on the compound wall of a woman's house in the Nadammel Canal area in ​​Kandothumchaal. The fresh blast took place in the area today when the police are trying to find the accused in this case.

Congress President of Puthoor constituency, K. P Vijeesh, demanded the arrest of the accused after thorough probe. JBM district chairman CVA Jalil, Indian Union Muslim League district secretary TP Musthafa and others visited the incident site. Panur CI and SHO reached the spot and conducted investigation. Police are camping at the place.

Two steel bombs were found in Kannur's Koothuparamba on Saturday. The steel bombs found during the inspection conducted by the police in an empty ground in Ampiladu Road near Kinattintavida were defused. The search was in the background of the bomb blast in Eranjoli. In the wake of the incident, an inspection was conducted at the vacant houses and properties in each station area. The investigation was led by five bomb squads from Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts in Koothuparamba, Thalassery, Mahe and Mattannur.
