CPM district secretariat criticizes EP Jayarajan and SFI, calls for government to correct mistakes

cpm

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It was discussed in the CPM district secretariat meeting held yesterday that there is a need for correction in the activities of the government the growth of BJP should be studied seriously.

Welfare pension arrears influenced the election results. At least three months' arrears should have been paid. The high level of criticism against the SFI leadership in connection with the death of Pookode Veterinary College student Siddharth has backfired. LDF convener EP Jayarajan's meeting with BJP leader Prakash Javadekar on election day brought embarrassment to the party. EP is constantly putting pressure on the party. The leaders said that the party can win the local elections only if they make corrections.

More serious than the defeat of the Left Front in two constituencies in the district is the huge increase in BJP's votes. A study should be done on this. For the third time in a row, the LDF has been relegated to the third position in Thiruvananthapuram. Rajeev Chandrasekhar came as a BJP candidate very late, but the vote received by the candidate is shocking. Had Sashi Tharoor not been the Congress candidate, the result would have been in BJP's favour.

Many people have received personal benefits from the central government. This includes the families of CPM workers. The Secretariat also assessed that problems in the local party led to leakage of basic votes. The election review report presented by the secretary also states that if the votes received by the BJP candidate are not taken seriously despite the party's district secretary V Joy contesting in Attingal, the constituency will turn in their favor in the future. The approach of the police led to alienation of the common people from the party. Party district committee meeting will be held today and tomorrow.
