THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar has requested vehicle owners to add their phone numbers on the Parivahan website. " Your vehicle registration is often done by agents or dealers. Often, the phone number of the person who bought the vehicle is not the one given during registration, and hence the information related to the vehicle will be sent to that number," the minister said in a video shared on Facebook.
"You may have to pay a large amount for the fine. The details including the fine from the AI camera will be sent to your phone number. You have to add your number on the Parivahan website. You will be given another chance to add the number. If you sell your vehicle to someone else, don't forget to make sure that the vehicle ownership is transferred to his name," said the minister. If your number is given wrongly on Vahan website... be it a penalty or any information... it will go to that wrong number. Dealers and agents who gave a different phone number when you purchased the vehicle, may ignore this messages. You will know these details only when you go to the office of the motor vehicle department regarding something about your vehicle," the minister said.

"If any of the motor vehicle department officials or agencies ask for money, don't give it. Taking or paying bribe is a punishable offence," the minister reminded.
