Party Congress in April 2025: CPM conferences from September

cpm

NEW DELHI: The Central Committee of the CPM has approved holding the next party congress in April 2025 and starting the party meetings from September this year before that. The venue of the 24th Party Congress has not been decided.

According to the party's press release, the central committee has evaluated the performance of the party in the states including Kerala in the Lok Sabha elections with introspection. Flaws and shortcomings have been identified. The State Committees were instructed to resolve these and further strengthen the party. None of the issues discussed in the committee, including the performance in the election where it only won one seat in Kerala and vote leakage, were mentioned. The General Secretary's routine press conference was also avoided.

The Central Committee assessed that the CPM played a major role in mobilizing the secular forces against the BJP through the 'INDIA' front. Unlike the last two Lok Sabha elections, the BJP did not get a majority on its own. The fight will continue with the secular democratic parties inside and outside the parliament to protect the constitution, secular democracy, federalism and civil liberties of the people.

Expressing concern over the NEET malpractice controversy, the Central Committee demanded the resignation of the Education Minister and expressed strong opposition to the new criminal laws.
