KAYAMKULAM: A woman has filed a sexual assault complaint with the Kayamkulam police against Premjith, a former area secretary of DYFI in Kayamkulam and a member of the CPM Pathiyoor local committee. The complainant is an employee of a financial institution, under the ownership of Premjith's mother, in Enakulangara.

As per the complaint, Premjith is constantly trying to sexually assault the complainant. She allegedly left the job due to this but the harrasment continued which forced her to lodged a complaint. The woman also claimed that there are attempts to subvert the case using political influence.

The complainant joined the company last year. Despite her repeated warnings against sexual exploitation, the harassment continued. After resigning the job, she was summoned again by saying that there is a shortfall of Rs 10 lakh rupees at the firm and the accounts must be checked. Subsequently, Premjith and his friends threatened her behind closed door.

However, Premjith claimed that he only questioned the shortfall of around Rs 10 lakh from the firm and the evidence has been handed over to the police.

Kayamkulam police has registered a case.
