KANNUR: Police on Tuesday arrested the son of a prominent congress leader on the complaint of molesting a young woman inside a fitness centre. Sarath Nambiar, who owns a fitness centre in Payyannur, was arrested in the case.
In the complaint filed by the 20-year-old girl, it is mentioned that she was locked up and later tortured inside the fitness centre by Sarath. Sarath Nambiar is the son of senior Congress Leader M Narayanan Kutty in Kannur.
The incident mentioned in the complaint took place on Monday. The complainant had visited the fitness centre to undergo her physiotherapy session. In the backdrop of this case, more such rumours are now popping up against Sarath for his misconduct with women. Allegations are also rife about police not taking necessary actions when faced with similar complaints against Sarath.
