Police protection for Koyilandy Gurudeva College principal; fake news that principal Dr Sunil Bhaskaran has been arrested

KOZHIKODE: Fake news on social media that the principal of Koyilandy Gurudeva College, who was attacked by SFI members, has been arrested. The fake campaign is being carried out in the backdrop of the opening of the college under heavy police security following the directive of the High Court. Principal Dr Sunil Bhaskaran said that a complaint has been lodged with Cybercell and Koyilandy CI.

Koyilandy CI Melvin Jose announced that an investigation has been initiated. The principal has been reaching and leaving the college under police security for two days. CI said such scenes may be behind the post. A case has been filed against 15 people in the incident of assaulting the college principal.

Koyilandy Gurudeva college opened

Two days after the assault on the principal, Koyilandy Kollam Gurudev College opened yesterday. Heavy security was provided by the police following the directive of the High Court. Despite the threat of SFI, Principal Dr Sunil Bhaskaran came to the college. The class started after a staff meeting was held under his leadership. There were no protests or other problems. On 1st of this month, SFI activists attacked the principal. The principal approached the High Court demanding action to open the closed college. Police protection was provided after this.
