KOCHI: The High Court has asked the police to continue vigilance at Koyilandy Gurudeva College, Kozhikode, where conflict erupted. Justice VG Arun was disposing of the college's petition seeking police protection. No outsiders should be admitted in the college without the permission of the college authorities. The court also directed to ensure protection to the principal and teachers in case of emergency.

The principal informed the court that classes have resumed in the college. SFI activists had attacked the college principal last week. A dispute over the help desk is what led to the conflict.

A case was registered against the principal on the complaint of beating up the SFI area committee president. The police have also registered a case against the SFI workers in the incident of beating up the principal.
