KALPETTA: Actor and Territorial Army Lt Col Mohanlal has reached Meppadi in Wayanad to extend support to the people affected by the landslides. He came in army uniform accompanied by Major Ravi. He reached Wayanad from Kozhikode and first visited the army base camp in Meppadi. He held talks with them and then left for Mundakkai and Punchiri Muttom. He may also visit the relief camps in Wayanad.
As part of the rescue operations, he is likely to visit the places badly affected by the landslide. He came from Mumbai on Saturday early morning.
The actor stopped his vehicle in Mundakkai walked and visited the places badly affected by the landslides. He spent nearly ten minutes in Mundakkai.
The actor had yesterday donated Rs 25 lakh to the chief minister’s relief fund. He had also shared a note lauding the relentless efforts of volunteers, police, rescue teams, and government officials involved in the relief operations. He also expressed his gratitude to the 122 Infantry Battalion TA Madras for their significant contribution to the mission.
Malayalam actors like Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya, Pearle Maaney Srinish Arvind, Manju Warrier, Navya Nair, Asif Ali and many others have announced donations. Mammootty handed over Rs 20 lakhs and Dulquer 15 lakhs to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Both provided help as part of the Mammootty Care Foundation.
