13-year-old girl missing from Thiruvananthapuram in Chennai? Police leave for Chennai to investigate

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is reported that Thasmin Begum, the 13-year-old girl from Assam who went missing from Kazhakootam, has reached Chennai. The Kazhakootam police have left for Chennai to confirm the matter. There are indications that the girl may have gone to Assam from Chennai. Guwahati Express has left Chennai at 10.45 am today. The police are also investigating whether the girl boarded this train.

The police had earlier confirmed that the girl had boarded the Chennai-Egmoor Express. Based on this information, the police conducted an investigation at various stations. The police stated that the girl boarded and deboarded three times and boarded the Chennai Egmoor Express shortly before the train departed.

The police had earlier received the CCTV footage of the girl getting off at Nagercoil station. It is clear from the CCTV footage that the girl alighted from the train at the platform in Nagercoil at 3.03 am yesterday and got back on the same train after taking a bottle of water. After concluding that the girl was in Kanyakumari, the police searched the railway station, the beach and other places there, but did not get any information about the child.
The missing girl is Anwar Hussain's elder daughter Thasmin Begum, who lives on rent near St. Anthony's School, Kazhakootam. The girl left the house upset because her mother scolded her for fighting with her siblings
