THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Malayalam's favorite actor Indrans will be writing his seventh class exam today at Attakulangara School. "I am scared... I will write and see... What can I do in the middle of shooting... I only got a short break to study. I was taught by my family in that gap. The equivalence class was in the medical college high school. All my companions used to go to class every week," Indrans told Kerala Kaumudi.
Indrans, who had to drop out of his studies in the fourth standard, took refuge in a tailor shop in search of a livelihood. Unexpected turns in life led him to cinema. Even in the silver light of acting, dropping out of school was a sad memory for him. That is what prompted Indrans to take the 7th class equivalency examination at the age of 68. There are two days of examination, both morning and afternoon. It starts at 9.30 am and ends at 4.30 pm. Today's exams are Malayalam, English and Hindi. Social science, science and mathematics exams tomorrow. The result will come in two weeks.
Kerala State Literacy Mission Ambassador
The 10th equivalent class is the next hurdle after passing the 7th class. The role of Kerala State Literacy Mission brand ambassador awaits Indrans when he reaches class 10. Literacy Mission is preparing to make a recommendation to the government for that. Director AG Olina said that Indran's is being made the ambassador because his unquenchable passion for learning will inspire the common man as an ambassador.
