THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Saji Cherian on Thursday strongly criticized Kerala media for ‘shrewdly’ hyping MLA Mukesh’s issue. Minister said he supported media’s efforts to point out wrongs but warned not to take leverage of the situation to hurl allegations at a whim.

“Some matters require scrutiny. Media does not even care how their report affects society. The criticism made by certain media platforms should be intended for the good of the society” said Minister Saji Cherian.

Saji Cherian also defended Mukesh's involvement in the film policy formulation committee. The minister argued that the 11-member committee, which includes Mukesh, is responsible for preparing the preliminary draft. There has been a huge uproar against actor Mukesh’s inclusion in the committee despite the MLA facing serious allegations from an actress. The police have also initiated an investigation against Mukesh but the government remains unperturbed.

The minister also refused to respond to questions about the allegations faced by MLA Mukesh.
