THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has ordered a further probe in the wake of new revelations in the Kodakara Hawala case. The government ordered a further probe after the chief minister's meeting with DGP Sheikh Darvesh Sahib.

A special investigation team will take further action in the case. The police will submit a report to the Irinjalakuda court pointing out the possibility of further investigation. Further investigation will be conducted after obtaining the permission of the court. The investigating team will also record the statement of former BJP office secretary Tirur Satheesh, who made a new revelation in the case.

CPM state secretariat had also suggested a re-investigation in the case
following the allegations made by Tirur Satheesh. The opinion that emerged at the party secretariat was that legal possibilities should be explored in the case as allegations levelled by the former BJP office secretary are serious. Earlier, Rahul Mamkootathil, the UDF candidate in Palakkad, had said that there is a competition between the ED and the Kerala Police to save K Surendran from the Kodakara hawala case. K Surendran said that he had no time to react to people shouting something without proof. Surendran told the media in Thrissur that he was an accused in 346 cases and that he had not challenged the law in even a single case. "If the central agencies want to investigate the case, they need proof. I don't want to respond to fakes like Rahul Mamkootathil. I clearly know who is behind this," Surendran said.
