CBSE dismisses reports of syllabus reduction for Class 10 and Class 12 examinations

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has dismissed reports that it has proposed to cut the syllabus by 15 percent from the 2025 Class X and Plus Two board exams. Indicating that no such policy decision has been taken, the board also clarified that no change has been made in the evaluation system or examination policy.

It was also informed that the information related to the policy decisions of CBSE will be published only through the official website of the board or through authorized channels. Some national media were the first to report that CBSE has announced up to 15 percent reduction in the syllabus for Class 10 and Plus Two board exams in 2025.

Meanwhile, by the end of November, the board exams for classes 10 and plus 2 will be released. The exams are expected to begin in mid-February.
