THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Lakshmi, widow of violinist Balabhaskar, has reacted for the first time over his death. In an interview to a media, she said that she is an ordinary woman and that no one can make her say anything under threat or pressure.
She clarified that she has nothing to look at and that she only needs to think about the faces of her husband and child. 'I am speaking now for two reasons. One, the second phase of CBI's statement taking has been completed. The final results of it are not known. The controversies are not over yet.
Everything I said is in the legal records. Those loving Balu wants to hear what I say. I did not say it in front of them. Now I felt that I should say what I saw and knew. I know that everyone will not believe what I say. Those who create controversies will continue to do so. There are a few people who believe what I say, and I am saying it for them,' said Lakshmi. The full version of the channel interview has not been released.
Balabhaskar and his daughter died in the early hours of September 25, 2018, when their car crashed into a tree on the Pallipuram National Highway. Even after six years, the mystery behind Balu's death remains. There were allegations that Balabhaskar's death was a murder.
Although the police, Crime Branch and CBI wrote off the case as a natural car accident, his father K C Unni approached the high court and obtained an order to conduct a detailed investigation to see if the death was related to gold smuggling or a conspiracy as part of it. Initially, it was thought to be an ordinary car accident.
