WASHINGTON: Last day, Donald Trump took office as the 47th President of the United States. It was a swearing-in ceremony that the world was glued into. In the meantime, Elon Musk, the man Friday of Trump and the founder of Tesla, got mired in an unwanted controversy. The gestures made by Elon Musk while addressing the people at the rally held at the White House have turned into a new topic of debate on social media.
It is rumoured that Musk while addressing the crowd saluted the crowd, the gesture being eerily similar to the infamous Nazi salute espoused by Hitler. Criticism is raining down on Musk for tacitly endorsing a fascist regime. Interestingly, Musk’s speech was noteworthy, hitting the right chord with his legion of fans.
"This was no ordinary victory. It was truly significant in the path of human civilization. Thank you." said Musk about Donald Trump’s victory. He then addressed the Trump supporters by thumping his chest and then making the now controversial salute. Meanwhile, the New York-based Anti-Defamation League, formed to prevent anti-Semitism, bigotry and discrimination, played down the media reports juxtaposing Musk’s salute to the Nazi one.
