PATHANAMTHITTA: Naveen Babu's wife Manjusha has withdrawn from the legal representation of lawyer S Sreekumar, who had sought a Crime Branch investigation without her consent in the case related to the death of ADM Naveen Babu. Crime Branch investigation was not requested in the appeal filed by Manjusha. The lawyer was not assigned to request it either. The petition only requested a CBI investigation. Contrary to this, the lawyer requested a Crime Branch investigation in the High Court on Thursday.
"The lawyer was asked that day to convince the High Court that we did not have such a need. Although he assured us that he would do so, the lawyer later said that he was not interested. This is why we withdrew from the legal representation," said Naveen Babu's family
Advocate John S. Ralph was arguing the case in the High Court single bench. Sreekumar was approached after many people demanded that a more senior lawyer be appointed in the division bench. The lawyer's stance at the final stage of the case, which was about to be decided, became a challenge for the family. They will have to move forward with another lawyer.
