Dispute over Instagram poll; 17-year-old stabbed to death by friend

MUMBAI: In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death by his friend following a dispute that arose over an Instagram poll. The deceased is Himanshu Chimney, a native of Wardha district in Maharashtra. Himanshu was stabbed to death by his friend Manav Jumnake. The incident took place at Pimpalgaon village last Saturday.

The issues began last month when Manav Jumnake and Himanshu Chimney put up a story on Instagram inviting votes on it from social media users. However, Himanshu received more votes than Manav. This led to a conflict between the two. They met on Friday in an attempt to resolve the issue, but instead of settling their differences, the argument escalated, ultimately leading to murder. The Hinganghat police have arrested Manav, and further legal proceedings are ongoing.
