KOZHIKODE: A turning point in the incident where a pregnant woman was killed after her car caught fire in Perambra. Police say the fire was planned. An investigation has also been launched focusing on the woman dead. Her relatives had earlier alleged that the death was planned and mysterious.

The police have found that petrol was stored in the car. The police have also received footage of a woman walking with petrol. The police are trying to find out who the woman is. The police are also investigating the role of Sona, who died in the accident. She had gone out with a relative on the day of the accident. Her husband came at 7:30 that evening and took Sona from her relative's house. The accident occurred while they were on their way.

Eight-month pregnant Sona of Perambra Paleri Kallikandi House, died last Friday. Her husband Rajin Lal (30), who suffered serious burns, is undergoing treatment in the ICU of Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. The family is planning to file a complaint with the chief minister in the incident. Her uncle A K Sathyan said a decision has been taken to file a complaint as soon as Sona's postmortem and forensic reports are received.

Her family alleged that the fire was Rajin Lal's plan to get rid of Sona. The family alleged that it seems as if Rajin deliberately set Sona on fire by leaving something deadly inside the car and that when the accident occurred, he tried to escape by jumping into the canal without trying to open the back door. The preliminary conclusion of the forensic is that the cause of the accident was not a short circuit. The motor vehicles department and forensic experts had found that there were no defects in the wiring and fuel tank inside the car during the inspection.
