NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that Rs 2500 would be credited to the bank accounts of women starting from March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day. This was one of the key promises made by the BJP during the elections.
"It is the responsibility of all 48 BJP MLAs in the national capital to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dreams. We will implement all the promises, including the financial assistance pledged to women. The money will be deposited into their accounts on March 8 itself," said Rekha Gupta.
The grand swearing-in ceremony took place at noon at Ramlila Maidan, witnessed by thousands of party workers. Rekha Gupta took the oath as the Chief Minister, while Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh were sworn in as ministers. The oath was administered by Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena. The event was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President J.P. Nadda, Union Ministers, Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of NDA-ruled states, and BJP MPs. Modi expressed his confidence that Rekha Gupta would work with full dedication towards the development of Delhi.
