Tenth-class boy held with ganja

KOTTAYAM: A tenth-class boy was held with ganja in Poonjar. He was held with six grams of ganja last night. The excise team examined him after finding him in a suspicious situation. He had tried to flee from the spot after pushing the excise official during examination.

Meantime, the police arrested one engaged in selling drugs focusing educational institutions in Parassala. The arrested is Shaan (24) of Inchivila Therivila Devarvila House in Parassala.

He used to visit schools and colleges in Parassala and surrounding areas and after ensnaring students, he used to deliver drugs as per requirements. Even when he was arrested by the police, drugs including cannabis were found from his possession.


Migrants held with ganja
During a search as part of the Janakeeyam D Hunt, migrants from Bihar were arrested with about 1.5 kilograms of cannabis at Kaipamangalam in Thrissur. The Kaipamangalam police arrested Basiha (38), Sheikh Naeem (42) and Mohammed Gaurakh (35), all natives of Bihar.


The police recovered 1.5 kilograms of cannabis from the house in Perimangalam where they lived as a family. The ganja was in small packs and kept ready for distribution. They were under the surveillance of the special branch for a week following a tip-off.
