KOCHI: Uma Thomas MLA criticized actress Divya Unni and Minister Saji Cherian for the accident that occurred during a dance performance for the Guinness World Records at Kaloor Stadium. The MLA sustained serious injuries after she fell from the temporary stage set up for a mega dance event held at Kaloor Stadium.

Uma Thomas said Divya Unni, who led the dance event, did not fulfill her responsibility as a person who is in the public eye, at the time of the accident. She did not even make a call at the right time. In an interview to a private channel, she said the minister continued with the event and his approach made me question his culture.

Her words
‘The minister continued with the event after she fell and sustained injuries. With this approach, it was doubted whether the minister has any culture. After the fall, many returned to their seats and attended the event with the ease of a cloth falling from the rope. Many including the minister, did not even bother to inquire about what happened.

Divya Unni called me after Manju Warrier visited me. I had told her my worries and the next Sunday, Divya Unni called me. I jokingly asked if it was Divya. I said that this is not the time to respond. Celebrities like you should never shy away from social responsibilities. We have certain responsibilities and should be role model for others. I told her that others learn by watching us.'
