Couple found hanging at home in Kannur

KANNUR: A couple was found hanging at Kodolipram in Mattanur. Babu (58) of Gokulam House and his wife Sajitha (55) were found hanging in their house at around 12 noon. Babu was found hanging in the bedroom and his wife in the fan of the hall. The chair on which Sajitha had climbed to hang herself from the fan is missing.

Only Babu and Sajitha were at home when the incident happened. Their daughter had gone to her husband's house and son to his wife's house. When the house did not open even after noon, people living nearby informed their son Subijith. When he reached home and opened the door with another key, found them hanging.

Babu, who was abroad, returned ten years ago. The locals said that he had to pay about Rs 25 lakh including interest in the bank and that he was worried over it. His daughter is Jibisha. On being informed, the police led by Mattanur sub inspector C P Linesh arrived and inspected. The forensic department from Kannur also inspected the house.
