THURAVOOR (ALAPPUZHA): Following an argument with a biker, the driver and conductor of a KSRTC superfast bus full of passengers stopped the bus in the middle of the road and left. This led to a traffic jam on the national highway for about an hour. Finally, the police arrived and moved the KSRTC bus to the roadside with the help of a private bus driver. The incident took place at around 9:30 am on the national highway where the elevated highway is being constructed near the Aroor Panchayat office.

The Aroor police registered a case against Kollam depot driver D Biju. The Alappuzha ATO reported to the KSRTC MD, stating that the driver and conductor were at fault in the incident.

The incident is as follows: The bus, which was going to Kozhikode, hit a bike when it reached Abad Cold Storage in Aroor. The bike rider, Sanoop (33), a native of Chandiroor, fell on the road and sustained minor injuries. Sanoop chased the bus, which failed to stop, and stopped it near the Aroor Panchayat office, leading to an altercation.

Alleging that Sanoop had assaulted them, the driver and conductor stopped the bus in the middle of the road, boarded an auto and went to the police station. During the investigation, the police found that the driver and conductor's complaint that Sanoop had assaulted them was baseless. Sanoop sought treatment at the Ernakulam General Hospital. Sanoop filed a complaint against the driver with the police and the Transport Minister. The footage of the incident is viral on social media.
