Hand severed while going for Onam celebrations, Coimbatore college teaching staff dies in tragic accident at Palakkad

PALAKKAD: A faculty member died in a scooter accident while on her way to attend the college's Onam celebrations. The deceased has been identified as Ancy (36), a native of Kaikuthiparambu, Chakkanthara, Palakkad, a teaching staff member at a private college in Coimbatore.

The accident occurred on the national highway near Kanjikode railway station junction at 11 am on Monday. Ancy's hand was severed after she fell onto the road due to the impact of the crash. It is not clear which vehicle hit her. The body has been kept at the district hospital mortuary. It will be handed over to the relatives after the postmortem.
