26-year-old lover kills 52-year-old woman for using filter to look younger

LUCKNOW: A 26-year-old youth murdered a 52-year-old woman he met on Instagram. The incident happened at Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh. The dead is Rani. Arun Rajput told police that he committed the murder after she pressured him to marry her and return a loan that he had taken from her.

An unidentified body of a woman was found near Karpari village in Mainpuri on August 11. Seeing strangulation marks on her neck, a postmortem conducted confirmed that she was murdered. The police then started an investigation. Complaints regarding missing women were examined. After checking with several police stations in the state, they identified the woman as a resident of Farrukhabad, based on a missing complaint. The police then took Arun Rajput into custody after identifying him as the accused.

Mainpuri Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh said the two met via Instagram. After exchanging numbers, they began talking to each other on the phone. In the meantime, they met several times. On the day of the murder, Rani came o Mainpuri to meet Arun. They talked about marriage. Arun got into an argument over the return of Rs 1.5 lakhs she had loaned him. The youth told police that he strangled the woman with the dupatta she was wearing. The police also recovered Rani's phone that Arun had taken.

The accused said the woman used a filter on Instagram to make her look younger. He realized her real age when he first met her in person. The woman also hid the fact that she was married and a mother of four children. Arun told police that he was not ready to marry her for these reasons.
