Ten fragrant sacks in front of the police station in Kochi: How is it connected to Rs 81 lakh robbery by masked gang?

KOCHI: If one reaches Maradu police station, they will see ten sacks stacked in front of it. What comes out of these is a nice aroma. The sacks stacked in front of the Maradu SHO's room are filled with good-quality cardamom. The price of these, which are not very old since harvest, is close to 15 lakhs. 580 kg of cardamom is stored in the sack. These are the evidence in a case.

A part of the evidence in Rs 81 lakh robbery by a masked gang from the National Steel Company in Kundannur at gunpoint is kept in front of the station. So far, the police have recovered Rs 67 lakh as part of the case. 11 people have been arrested by the Maradu police in connection with the case.

The first accused in the case, Joji Josy, a native of Aluva Alangad, and Lenin Biju, a native of Murikassery, Idukki and a cardamom farmer who helped keep the money, were earlier arrested by the police from Idukki. Jaisal Francis, who was also a member of the masked gang, is also a native of Murikassery. Another accused, Abins Kuriakose, is a native of Udumbanchola, Idukki. Both were arrested from Bengaluru.

After robbing the money, the accused went to Idukki and from there to Pondicherry. From Pondicherry, the accused went to Bengaluru. However, the police, after receiving clear information about them, arrested the accused.
