Corporation Mayor M K Varghese to join BJP, hints Suresh Gopi

THRISSUR: Union Minister Suresh Gopi hinted that Corporation Mayor M K Varghese is all set to join the BJP. The minister had said during the Kalunk debates that the party would take over the corporation administration and the Thrissur MLA post. Suresh Gopi also used sympathetic words for the mayor in the Coffee Times held in Thrissur on Sunday.

‘The administrators have sabotaged the Rs 19 crore provided by the Centre for the corporation stadium. Action is being taken to allocate the money as per the collector's report. The mayor did not try to sabotage the project. I will never say that he did anything against it. I know his helplessness,' said Suresh Gopi.

Meanwhile, there are reports that a move is underway to bring Palakkad BJP Chairperson Pramila Sasidharan to the Congress. BJP leaders had come out in support of and criticized Pramila for sharing the stage with Rahul Mamkootathil MLA. The Congress move comes in the meantime.

Chairperson Pramila Sasidharan attended the inaugural function of the Stadium Bypass District Hospital Link Road the other day. This road was built using Rahul's MLA funds. The BJP's stand was that Rahul would not be allowed to attend the public event. However, Pramila shared the stage with Rahul. Pramila has given an explanation that she attended the event because the road was built using the MLA fund.
