
GURUVAYUR: Guruvayur temple witnessed a very expensive offering on this New Year's Day. A gold crown was presented as an offering to Sree Guruvayurappan on January 1st of this year. The gold crown weighing 218 grams (27 pawns) was offered by Shoma Krishna, a native of Vazhuthacaud, Thiruvananthapuram.
The offering was made before the uchapuja on January 1. Devaswom Chairman Dr. VK Vijayan received the gold crown at the ceremony held under the flagpole. Administrative committee members C Manoj, KP Viswanathan, Devaswom Administrator OB Arun Kumar, temple deputy administrator Pramod Kalarikkal, assistant manager CR Lejumol, and relatives of Shoma Krishna, who made the offering, were present.
