KASARGOD: Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan said that the UDF will come to power by winning 100 seats in the Assembly elections. He was speaking to the media as part of the Puthuyuga Yatra. He said that the yatra aims to end the "Communist era" in Kerala and begin a new phase in the state's politics. According to him, the Pinarayi government has placed a financial burden of Rs 6 lakh crore on Kerala, and the yatra will expose this. He added that plans will be prepared to rebuild Kerala, which he described as being in a damaged condition, and to shape the future of the state.
Satheesan said the UDF will seek the support of experts from around the world to prepare development plans. "As the yatra reaches different regions, specific projects for those areas will be announced. Clear and practical development programs will be prepared for Kerala’s progress, with a long-term vision and ambitious projects. 75 percent of the yatra’s time will be dedicated to discussing these plans," Satheesan said.
He also said the UDF will take a firm stand against communalism without any compromise. Instead of focusing only on prominent figures, the yatra will listen to people who genuinely want Kerala to grow and to ordinary citizens facing hardships.
Responding to criticism over Adoor Prakash being seen in a photograph with Unnikrishnan Potty, Satheesan said that if Adoor Prakash is being questioned for that reason, then the Chief Minister should also be questioned. He said there is concern among the public about the SIT investigation and alleged that the team is being controlled from the Chief Minister’s Office.
They are criticising me because they do not like me
On criticism from SNDP Yogam General Secretary and NSS General Secretary, Satheesan said they may be targeting him personally because they do not like him. He pointed out that they have not criticised the UDF or the Congress party. He added that both leaders are elderly, but he will continue to maintain his strong stand against communalism.
