Youngest organ donor in Kerala; 10-month-old Alin Sherin Abraham's organs will be donated

KOCHI: A ten-month-old brain-dead baby will become the youngest organ donor in Kerala. The organs of Alin Sherin Abraham, who was brain-dead at Amrita Hospital in Ernakulam, will be donated. Alin Sherin Abraham is the daughter of Arun Abraham and Sherin, natives of Mallappally in Pathanamthitta. She became brain-dead while undergoing treatment following a road accident. The parents had expressed their willingness to donate the baby's organs.

The baby's kidneys, liver and heart valve will be donated. Both kidneys will be given to a ten-year-old girl undergoing treatment at SAT Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram. The liver will be donated to KIMS Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram. The heart valves will be donated to Sree Chitra Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram. The organs will be brought to Thiruvananthapuram by road from Kochi.
