'I hate my life'; Another student commits suicide at Chennithala Navodaya Vidyalaya

MANNAR: Yet another student of Chennithala Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya committed suicide on Tuesday. Abhigeeth (16) of Kayamkulam Kandallur Velanchira committed suicide. Abhigeeth is the son of Krishnapuram Panchayat Secretary K.P. Biju and Muthukulam Samajam Higher Secondary School teacher Bindu.

The body was found around 2 pm on Tuesday, hanging from an iron bar installed above the wall of the corridor leading to the toilet of the boys' hostel in the school premises. The body was discovered by classmates after Abhigeeth failed to show up for their biology practical exam.

A suicide note was found on the body. The police concluded it could be personal reasons, as it read 'I hate my life'. Forensic and fingerprint experts reached the spot and conducted an examination. The inquest was completed, and the body was shifted to Alappuzha Medical College Hospital. Abhinand, an MBBS student, is Abhigeeth's brother.

This is the second suicide at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chennithala, this academic year. On July 10, a 10th-grade student, S. Neha (14), daughter of Shiju and Anila, was found hanging in the courtyard of the school. The police's initial investigation failed to find the reason behind the suicide.
