'Insufficient equipment can cause loss of life'; Notice issued to Konni Medical College listing deficiencies

PATHANAMTHITTA: A notice listing the deficiencies has been stuck at Konni Medical College in Health Minister Veena George's district. The notices were stuck in the surgical department of the hospital. It is not known who stuck the notice. The notice mainly mentions eight deficiencies.

The notice says that patients coming for surgery should understand the inadequacy of the hospital. Lack of necessary equipment can even lead to loss of life, there is no well-equipped intensive care unit. There is a shortage of adequately trained staff, there is a shortage of expert colleagues in the theatre, there is a possibility of infection from the peeling paint layers, there is no cardiologist or nephrologist here, the pharmacy does not work after 5 pm, and there is a nuisance of wild animals inside the hospital. The medical college superintendent has sought an explanation from Sivaprasad, the head of the surgery department, on the incident. The superintendent later tore up the notice.
