WAYANAD: Actor Tovino Thomas found himself in the middle of a controversy after taking part in a function at the Mary Matha College in Mananthavady on Friday. Reports suggest that Tovino had forced a student to hoot on stage after he was seen hooting during the actor's speech. The incident occurred when Tovino was speaking in a function held in connection with the National Voters' Day.

While Tovino was delivering his speech, a student began hooting and the actor immediately called him up on the stage. The student was then asked to hoot on stage and despite hesitating initially, the student was forced on to hoot multiple times on stage, reports said.

Following this, members of the Kerala Students Union (KSU) came up demanding legal action against Tovino. While stating that they would soon lodge a police complaint against the actor, KSU members said that the student had to undergo severe mental stress due to the actor's behaviour.

The function was also attended by several prominent personalities including Wayanad District Collector and Sub-Collector.
