Youth ends life after cops seize bike for violating lockdown

THODUPUZHA: A disheartened youth ended his life after cops seized his bike for violating lockdown. He has been identified as Vijaya Prakash of Chinnakanal in Idukki. He tried to commit suicide by dousing petrol on his body. He succumbed to his injuries Monday morning at the Kottayam Medical College. In his suicide attempt, he sustained more than 75% burns. The police had seized his bike the other day when he was out with his vehicle during the lockdown. Unhappy over it, he doused petrol on his body and set him ablaze.
