PATHANAMTHITTA: In the sexual assault of a COVID patient by an ambulance driver while she was being taken to hospital in the Pathanamthitta on Saturday night, the police said the accused, Noufal, had pre-planned the assault. The girl sustained serious injuries and suffered damage to her private parts, said the police. In the struggle to escape from the driver’s hold she fell down in the ambulance hurting her knees. The girl who is mentally and physically worn out is not in a position to testify, informed the police.
The police had registered another case against Noufal for abducting the girl. The ambulance which moved in a fast pace to Kozhencherry was slowed down while returning to Pandalam. Throughout the journey the convict talked to the girl with a sexual tone. It was amid the struggle the girl fell down and hurt her knees.
The girl was sexually assaulted on her way to the treatment centre. The police had recorded the detail statement of the girl. Noufal had been involved in many other criminal case before.
