NEW DELHI: Recent report claims that both Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE) are considering a further reduction of the syllabus of Classes 10 and 12 Board Examinations 2021. With the schools remaining closed due to the COVID pandemic, the boards are apparently planning to reduce the syllabus to 50 percent. It is also learnt that the boards are also considering to delay the Board exams by 45-60 days. However, a final decision has not been made.
The CBSE had stated that there would be no questions for the examination from the excluded subjects but the institutions were free to teach all the subjects as per the academic calendar of NCERT. Sample question papers from the reduced syllabus were also published. After CBSE, several state education boards were willing to cut the syllabus by 30 per cent.
