ADIMALI: Only actor Prithviraj and Cyril Philip, a businessman from Kottayam, owns Rs 3.5 crore worth Lamborghini Huracan in Kerala. Anas Baby from Senapati Kulakozhichal in Idukki, an MBA graduate, has now 'made' one for himself.

The 25-year-old knows very well that he will not be able to afford even a good bike as he does not even have the money to rebuild his house destroyed in the floods. So, he built his dream Lamborghini by himself. It took him a year and a half and two lakh rupees. He did works as a carpenter, caterer and other daily wage jobs to raise money.

Anas was a big fan of vehicles right from a young age. But he did not even have the money to buy even a toy. When he was in 10th class, he converted his bicycle into a bike and surprised the family. After completing his MBA in Palakkad, he got a job in a private company in Mangalore. Still, the craze for vehicles did not leave him. He quit his job and returned home.

He first saw a Lamborghini car at a showroom in Aluva. Later, he heard the news that actor Prithviraj saw had bought a Lamborghini and decided to make a car in that model. He worked day and night for it and learned about the car from Youtube. Initially, a model was made out of paper.

But the floods of 2018 shattered everything. His house was wrecked, which followed by the death of his father Baby. With this, the burden of the family fell on Anas' shoulders. But he still kept his dream intact. A portion of the money earned from daily wage labor was set aside. With this, he went to Palakkad, Thrissur and Mangalore and bought old car parts. After securing an engine of a 110cc bike, the frame was made of iron. Even old flex and plastic materials were used for construction.

More than a year and a half later, a green Lamborghini appeared in Anas' backyard. A small 'Lamborghini' with a door that opens upwards, a cabin that reminds of a cockpit, a rear engine and automatic systems. Anas' car has all the amenities of a luxury vehicle, including disc brakes, power windows, sunroof and front and rear cameras.

The car quickly went viral, circulating on social media. As the video became a sensation, compliments came in from Lamborghini's Bangalore showroom. Anas now wants to make it an electric vehicle by spending another Rs 50,000.

Amma Mercy and her younger brother Ajas, a third-year graduate student, initially opposed it, but are now with him. Anas fulfills his dream by driving in the alleys, as it cannot be driven on roads.
